Final Communiqué: PWYP 10th Anniversary Conference

The global Publish What You Pay (PWYP) civil society coalition concluded a three-day 10th Anniversary conference in Amsterdam today, Wednesday 19 September, hosted by the Dutch international development agency and PWYP member Cordaid. Two hundred and fifty transparency activists from 60 countries in Africa, Asia/Pacific, Central Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America participated in the event.The conference’s first day included a review of PWYP’s 10 year history, discussion of its future direction and a productive dialogue with representatives of industry, investors, governments and multilateral institutions. 21 – 23.08.2012 Regional consultation workshop held in Almaty

Representatives of the Coalition of Azerbaijani NGOs also attended the event

Regional consultation workshop was organized in Almaty on EITI by Publish What You Pay (PWYP) Coalition and Soros Foundation Office in Kazakhstan. The workshop, which was held on August 21-23, discussed the latest recommendations of PWYP Coalition on EITI rules and principles, as well as management mechanisms, and made presentations on real situation of EITI implementation and development per countries. Furthermore, an exchange of views was held on the agenda of EITI international conference to be organized in Amsterdam on September this year, also the further tactical and strategical duties. Most companies are against individual accountability NGO Coalition held conference on “Improvement of EITI reports”

Conference on “Improvement of EITI reports” was organized with the NGO Coalition for Improvement of Transparency in Extractive Industries.

The event which was organized at “Ambassador” hotel was attended by the Coalition members, companies operating in extractive industries, foreign embassies, ministries and EITI Secretariat representatives.Coordinator of EITI Coalition Board, Sevil Yuzbasheva provided general information on the topic and mentioned the Coalition paid major importance on the improvement of reports.
